Background and story
The tall white Castle is situated in the petty Barony of Thelisar. Thelisar is a fertile but small holding with a part of
it's holdings in the river valley of Grinda. The river Grinda winds down from the Grinda pass one of the only ways to pass
through the Wall Mountains to the kingdoms on the other side so it is a preferred trade route between the kingdoms and Empire.
The Barony backs up to the Pass, the castle actually nestled at the foot of the mountains. It is ruled by a Mage named Thelis
and has been held by his family for three generations, a practically endless dynasty in the chaotic politics of the Petty
Thelis is a kind ruler and tries to do the best for his people, teaching any that want to how to read and write and trying
to be fair and honest. He is a Fairly powerful mage that holds the other ambitious barons and dukes and princes of the surrounding
realms at bay with the threat of both his small but well disciplined and equipped army and his magic. This does not stop
them from intriguing planning and even trying to conquer his holdings. The rich trade routes and the farm land along the
river valley not to mention the copper and silver mines that his land encompass are rich and inviting targets to the greedy
and grasping rulers of the other baronies.
The Castle though is ancient and magical in and of itself, it is much larger on the inside than the outside, some say that
it reaches other dimensions entirely, some that it just has portals to other places. But one thing is sure there is a whole
large city in the castle hall. with taverns shops and homes all protected by the castles itself and the thick walls. as
for other dimensions? Perhaps Thelis knows for sure but no one has ever gotten an answer out of him. It is know though that
passages from the castle lead back into the mountains behind it and into deep dark caverns where dangerous things lurk. Lately
though there seems to be other trouble at afoot something, somewhere in the castle has been creating or summoning creatures
to send against the castle denizens. the will just appear out of thin air and attack anyone that is close. thelis has been
very busy trying to find out what is causing this phenomena but so far has not come up with any answers. some of the monstrous
creatures are relatively weak and eaisly killed others have slaughtered entire platoons of Thelis' well trained troops.
The Castle is open to all though and adventurers are encouraged to come and make their home here all they must do is swear
an oath on the Compulsion Crystal, to never harm Thelis or any of the people of the barony unless they are attacked first.
So come in enjoy and have fun.
